Poetry: "Untitled 137" by Lauren E. Long

Untitled 137
By Lauren E. Long

I used to feel you

Coming back to me in waves

Drifting further past safety

I was always so sure

You'd wash over me again once more

Summer smothered us in distance

While time gently escaped us

Like most late summer days do

I'm sorry for turning our ocean

Such an ugly shade of blue
