Cascade

She was from overflowing dreams and unyielding questions
From fierce determination that lay in her adolescent palms
Then Independence and Individuality became none other than disconcertion
As the female mind is nothing but an organ

Brought up with smiles and kind hands
A way of believing history did not translate to the present
That hair grown past the shoulders did not construe to weak
She was from overflowing dreams and unyielding questions

Overjoyed to share her passions and her feelings with her peers
Their countless pairs of bright eyes and hands that clap with pure admiration
Watched by wise shaking heads and conservative eyes
From fierce determination that lay in her adolescent palms

The present holds with a tight grip a society created from long tight rope and no safety net
Boundless bruised knuckles of those eyes stormed over and hands become merely tired
Rules made for her her own protection and judgement provided for her own good
Then Independence and Individuality became none other than disconcertion

A woman would be pretty and fickle and possess only well rested lips
She would fall from her rope with the comfort of soft cement and a hole in the ground
May her life be long and happy, and may her legs be ever covered with oppression
As the female mind is nothing but an organ
