Moonlight spills softly over her bedroom floor
Light flashes across her eyelids
And the darkness grows darker
A black figure and fear grows within the light from her shade

She wakes with a start
To a room black and familiar
A closet near the foot of her bed, dresser far over there, and a door closed shut
Moonlight spills softly over her bedroom floor
Glowing unnaturally bright
She shivers, pulling up the warmth of her sheets
She lies down, completely still
Light flashes across her eyelids

Something is different, in her familiar room
Her eyes stay wide open
Utter fear rushes through her veins and controls the humming bird beat of her heart
And the darkness grows darker

The light seems still to be growing
The darkness condensing around her, squeezing her, confining her to nothing
Attempting movement is useless, opening her mouth to scream useless too
A black figure and fear grows within the light from her shade
